2013 SAC Softball Headlines

Carson-Newman junior shortstop Brittany Hefner has added to her laundry list of honors in 2013 with a first-team All-American selection from the NFCA.

The 2013 Daktronics Division II Softball All-America Team was released on Wednesday night, featuring a total of four student-athletes from the SAC.

After dropping an extra-inning heartbreaker to Armstrong on Friday in the NCAA Division II Softball Championship Southeast Super Regional, Anderson was eliminated by the Pirates on Saturday following a 7-2 defeat.

The Capital One Academic All-District Softball Team was announced on Thursday, with four student-athletes from the SAC receiving selections to the District 3 squad.

Lenoir-Rhyne defeated Catawba twice on Sunday - including a seventh-inning rally in game one - to win its fourth-straight Food Lion SAC Softball Championship title.
