LMU’s Snow, Catawba’s Tysinger Earn SAC Softball Weekly Awards
Lincoln Memorial utility player Amanda Snow and Catawba pitcher Carley Tysinger have been named the SAC softball weekly award winners, the league office announced on Tuesday.
ROCK HILL, S.C. – Lincoln Memorial utility player Amanda Snow and Catawba pitcher Carley Tysinger have been named the SAC softball weekly award winners, the league office announced on Tuesday.
Snow, the SAC Player of the Week, led LMU to a 5-1 week by hitting .438 with four extra-base hits and nine RBI.
She had two hits in a two-game sweep of Lees-McRae, one in a 1-1 series split versus Limestone, and four – including two home runs - in a weekend two-game sweep over Virginia Intermont.
For the week, Snow compiled a .571 on-base percentage and a .938 slugging percentage. She also had a fielding percentage of .971 on 34 chances.
Snow currently has three home runs and 13 RBI on the season, both of which are tied for the second-most in the conference.

Tysinger, meanwhile, earned SAC Pitcher of the Week honors for the second-consecutive week by going 3-0 with a 0.33 ERA in 21 innings pitched for Catawba. Two of her wins – Tuesday against Pfeiffer and Saturday against West Virginia Wesleyan – were complete-game one-hit shutouts.
The freshman allowed just six hits and one earned run on the week. She struck out 30 batters compared to only two walks.
Tysinger leads the SAC with a 0.35 ERA and 58 strikeouts so far in 2013.
