Anderson’s Neidigh, Tusculum’s Johnson Named SAC Softball Players of the Week
Anderson second baseball Jessica Neidigh has been selected as the SAC Softball Player of the Week, and Tusculum starter Elizabeth Johnson was voted as the conference’s Pitcher of the Week, it was announced on Tuesday.
ROCK HILL, S.C. – Anderson second baseball Jessica Neidigh has been selected as the SAC Softball Player of the Week, and Tusculum starter Elizabeth Johnson was voted as the conference's Pitcher of the Week, it was announced on Tuesday.
Neidigh had a monster week for Anderson, picking up 19 hits in 26 at bats in six games, which included going 9-for-9 in a double header at Lincoln Memorial on Saturday. She also had a total of six hits in a double-header sweep of North Greenville last Monday and four hits in a split with Wingate on Wednesday.
She hit three doubles, a triple and a home run on the week to post a slugging percentage of 1.038. The sophomore also recorded six RBI and stole a pair of bases.
Neidigh now leads the SAC with a .507 batting average, ranks second in the conference in doubles with 12 and second in triples with four.

Johnson earned a pair of complete-game victories for Tusculum and made another relief appearance last week, finishing with a 1.26 ERA in 16.2 innings pitched.
Her first outing was a 3-1 win at Carson-Newman on Wednesday, where she allowed just a single unearned run on eight hits. The senior followed that with a three-hit, one-run performance on Friday in a 2-1 victory at Catawba. She totaled four strikeouts in the two starts.
Johnson now has 10 wins on the season and an ERA of 3.44. She has allowed only 34 walks in 124 innings pitched.
