The South Atlantic Conference Announces AstroTurf SAC Volleyball Players of the Week, Nov. 14

ROCK HILL, S.C. (TheSAC.com) – Lenoir-Rhyne outside hitter Brooke Redmond has been named the AstroTurf South Atlantic Conference Volleyball Player of the Week, while Anderson setter Emily Conlin was tabbed AstroTurf South Atlantic Conference Volleyball Specialist of the Week for matches played Nov. 8 – Nov. 13, the League announced today.

Redmond, a junior from Statesville, N.C., averaged 14.7 kills and 17.7 digs while leading the Bears to three victories over South Atlantic Conference foes Queens, Lincoln Memorial, and Carson-Newman last week. Redmond currently leads Lenoir-Rhyne in kills (272) and has helped Lenoir-Rhyne to a five-game winning streak. In the 3-2 victory over Carson-Newman on Nov. 12, Redmond posted 19 kills and 27 digs while averaging 5.40 digs per set. The award is her first Player of the Week plaudit of the season.

Conlin, a freshman from Glendale, Ariz., led Anderson to victories over Catawba and Queens last week.

The setter started all seven sets over the weekend, averaging 12.86 assists per set and posting 25 total digs and five service aces. In the sweep over Catawba, Conlin recorded 45 assists while averaging 15 assists per set and added 10 digs. In the 3-1 victory over Queens, Conlin again posted 45 assists and added 15 digs. Conlin has now recorded 10 straight double doubles and has recorded 18 on the season. The Glendale, Ariz., native leads the SAC in assists (1,204), assists per set (10.29), service aces (51) and service aces per set (0.44). Conlin has moved into sixth place in the school record books for assists in a single season. The award is her second South Atlantic Conference Specialist of the Week plaudit this season.
