The South Atlantic Conference Announces AstroTurf SAC Volleyball Players of the Week, Oct. 25 (WATCH)

ROCK HILL, S.C. (TheSAC.com) – Mars Hill outside hitter Lauren Hochstetler has been named the AstroTurf South Atlantic Conference Volleyball Player of the Week, while Newberry setter Maggie Marsh was tabbed AstroTurf South Atlantic Conference Volleyball Specialist of the Week for matches played Oct. 17 – Oct. 23, the League announced today.

Hochstetler, a junior from Sarasota, FL, recorded 40 kills and 49 digs to lead Mars Hill to wins over South Atlantic Conference foes Tusculum, Lenoir-Rhyne, and Brevard last week. Hochstetler averaged 3.5 kills per set against Lenoir-Rhyne on October 21. She also put down 19 kills and averaged 3.80 kills per set in the win over Brevard on Oct. 22. The award is her first Player of the Week plaudit of the season.

Marsh, a sophomore from Charleston, S.C., recorded 121 assists, 36 digs, seven block assists and averaged 11.00 assists per set to lead Newberry to wins over Anderson, Lincoln Memorial, and Carson-Newman last week. She tallied 51 assists in the 3-2 win over Lincoln Memorial on October 21.The award is her second consecutive South Atlantic Conference Specialist of the Week honor.
