The South Atlantic Conference Announces AstroTurf SAC Volleyball Players of the Week, Sept. 13

ROCK HILL, S.C. (TheSAC.com) – Wingate Middle Blocker Abby Saehler has been named the AstroTurf South Atlantic Conference Volleyball Player of the Week while Right Side Hitter Abby Cash of Lincoln Memorial was tabbed AstroTurf South Atlantic Conference Volleyball Specialist of the Week for matches played Sep. 5 – Sept. 11, the League announced today.

Saehler, a senior from Iowa, had another huge week leading her team to a 6-0 record. Saehler collected 79 kills, averaged 3.59 kills per set and a .293 hitting percentage. Saehler also added 2.41 digs and 0.45 blocks per set to go along with six aces. In the sweep of Erskine, Saehler notched nine kills and 12 digs and added 11 kills in the sweep over UNCP. She also notched 11 kills and nine digs against King and 18 kills in the win at Flagler. The award is her first Player of the Week plaudit of the season.

Cash, a senior from New Carlisle, OH, led the Lady Railsplitters to a five set win over SAC foeTusculum with a season-high 55 assists to go along with three kills, 14 digs, and three block assists. Cash currently ranks fourth in the SAC in assists per set (9.61) and sixth in total assists (173). This the award marks her first Specialist of the Week honor this season.
