The South Atlantic Conference Announces AstroTurf SAC Men's Track & Field Athlete of the Week, Apr. 5
ROCK HILL, S.C. (TheSAC.com) – Anderson's Christopher Burton was tabbed the AstroTurf South Atlantic Conference Men's Outdoor Track Runner of the Week, while Nate Patterson from Wingate was named the AstroTurf South Atlantic Conference Men's Outdoor Field Athlete of the Week for meets contested Mar. 27th-Apr. 2nd, the League announced today.
Burton, a junior from Johnston, South Carolina, placed first in the inaugural Montreat Invitational last Friday with a time of 10.87. He also captured first place in the 200-meter dash by crossing the line with a mark of 21.78. The honor marks his first Men's Track Athlete of the Week selection this season.
Patterson, a junior from Mauldin, South Carolina, won the triple jump at the VertKlasse Meeting with a season-best 15.37 meters. The mark stands as the best mark in the Conference to date and ranks fourth in all of NCAA Division II. He placed in second during the long jump event with another season best jump of 7.01 meters. The honor marks his first Men's Field Athlete of the Week selection this season.
