Mars Hill’s Stanek Earns SAC Softball Scholar-Athlete of the Year Award
Mars Hill junior Robyn Stanek has been voted as the SAC Softball Scholar-Athlete of the Year, an award representing excellence in academics, athletics, service and leadership.
ROCK HILL, S.C. – Mars Hill junior Robyn Stanek has been voted as the SAC Softball Scholar-Athlete of the Year, an award representing excellence in academics, athletics, service and leadership.
Stanek, a biology and pre-professional studies major at Mars Hill, holds a 3.95 GPA. She was a member of the Capital One Academic All-District Team as a sophomore, and has earned selections to the Mars Hill Dean's List, Alpha Chi national honor society, Beta Beta Beta biology honor society and the SAC Commissioner's Honor Roll.
On the field, Stanek was voted to the All-SAC Second Team as a third baseman this year. She hit .338 with 11 home runs, 34 RBI and a .669 slugging percentage in 44 games.
Stanek holds leadership roles with numerous organizations, including the MHU Student-Athlete Advisory Committee, Beta Beta Beta, Alpha Chi and Carolina Altitude softball. She is a past participant in the SAC Student-Athlete Leadership Conference, is a student teaching assistant and tutor, and helped organize Cancer Awareness Day.
The SAC Scholar-Athlete of the Year awards are voted on by the conference's Faculty Athletic Representatives Committee.
