The South Atlantic Conference Announces AstroTurf Women's Outdoor Track & Field Athletes of the Week
ROCK HILL, S.C. (TheSAC.com) – The South Atlantic Conference announced its AstroTurf Women's Outdoor Track & Field Athletes of the Week for events during April 8 through April 14. Coker garnered the track honors with Kaylah Ruff, while Wingate earned the field award with Hannah Hinson.
A senior sprinter, Ruff broke her own 100 meter hurdles mark with a blazing time of 14.34 seconds at the Gamecock Invitational, which is .12 seconds off of the NCAA Division II provisional qualifying time. The Conover, N.C. native now owns the top-10 times in Coker history, recording the best five within the last month. This is Ruff's first Track Athlete of the Week honor this season.
A senior thrower, Hinson had a big day at the University of Mount Olive Pickle Field Day Relays. The Gates, N.C. native finished second in the shot put (12.10 meters) and third in the discus throw (42.90 meters). Hinson was the top Division II finisher in both of the events. This is Hinson's first Field Athlete of the Week honor this season.
