The South Atlantic Conference Announces AstroTurf Women's Indoor Track & Field Athletes of the Week
ROCK HILL, S.C. (TheSAC.com) – The South Atlantic Conference announced its AstroTurf Women's Indoor Track & Field Athletes of the Week for events during Jan. 21 through Jan. 27. Lenoir-Rhyne earned the track honors with Saidah Hardwick and Queens garnered the field honors with Gabby Schultz.
A sophomore sprinter, Hardwick competed in the Finn Pincus Invitational, finishing first in the 400-meter in a time of 58.30 seconds. The Rolesville, N.C. also placed fifth in the 200-meter dash in a time of 26.21 seconds. This is Hardwick's first Track Athlete of the Week honor this season.
A senior thrower, Schultz earned a first-place finish in the shot put at the Finn Pincus Invitational with a mark of 14.70 meters. With the toss, the North Olmsted, Ohio native set a new meet and school record, while notching a NCAA Division II provisional distance. She also took second in the weight throw with a distance of 16.07 meters. This is Schultz's second Field Athlete of the Week honor this season.
