SAC Women’s Tennis Championship Field Led by Wingate
Wingate went a perfect 11-0 in SAC matches during the regular season, and will be the No. 1 seed in the 2014 Food Lion SAC Women’s Tennis Championship bracket, which was finalized on Sunday.
ROCK HILL, S.C. – Wingate went a perfect 11-0 in SAC matches during the regular season, and will be the No. 1 seed in the 2014 Food Lion SAC Women's Tennis Championship bracket, which was finalized on Sunday.
Wingate's SAC regular-season title was the program's fourth straight. The Bulldogs – 18-5 overall - have also won three-consecutive SAC Tournaments.
Tusculum is the bracket's No. 2 seed after going 10-1 in the conference, with the lone setback coming to Wingate. TC and WU will have quarterfinal-round byes, and open up play in the tournament in Thursday's semifinals.
Queens won its season finale on Sunday over Anderson to finish third in the SAC Standings at 9-2. The Royals will face sixth-seeded Mars Hill, which went 6-5 in the league, in Wednesday's quarterfinals.
The second quarterfinal matchup on Wednesday will pit fourth-seeded Newberry against fifth-seeded Anderson. Newberry finished 8-3 in the SAC, while Anderson went 7-4.
Every contest of the SAC Tennis Championship will take place at the Rock Hill Tennis Center in Rock Hill, S.C. The event will culminate on Friday with the championship match.
