The South Atlantic Conference Announces AstroTurf Women's Soccer Players of the Week
ROCK HILL, S.C. (TheSAC.com) – The South Atlantic Conference announced its AstroTurf Women's Soccer Players of the Week for matches played during the seventh week of the spring season. Carson-Newman forward Emilee Futrell was named the offensive player of the week, while Queens goalkeeper Erica Turner was named defensive player of the week.
Futrell, a senior from Wilson, N.C., recorded four goals and an assist for nine points to lead the Eagles to a pair of wins over Tusculum last week. Futrell's goal scoring endeavors included two game-winning goals.
Turner, a sophomore from Dublin, Ireland, led the Royals to a 1-0 shutout victory over Newberry last week. She made four saves between the posts for Queens.
