The South Atlantic Conference Announces AstroTurf Women's Soccer Players of the Week
ROCK HILL, S.C. (TheSAC.com) – The South Atlantic Conference announced its AstroTurf Women's Soccer Players of the Week for matches played during the fifth week of the season. Lenoir-Rhyne defender Ria Acton was named the offensive player of the week, while Limestone goalkeeper Katie Maher was named defensive player of the week.
Acton, a sophomore from Leicester, England, led the Bears to three wins last week by scoring three goals, including two game-winners. She scored the game-winner for No. 23 Lenoir-Rhyne in a 1-0 victory over Catawba and then netted two goals in a 2-1 win over Tusculum. For the week she earned six points on seven shots.
Maher, a senior from Blackburn, England, led the Saints to a 3-0 shutout win over Anderson last week. She made on save in her second consecutive shutout victory.
