Carson-Newman’s Ramsdale Named Women’s Soccer All-American, Lady Eagles Place Four on All-Region Team
MISSION, Kans. - The National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) has selected the All-South Region and All-American teams and the Carson-Newman Lady Eagles are well represented.
Freshman midfielder Claire Ramsdale (Birmingham, England) was selected to the third team NSCAA/adidas Division II All-American team. Ramsdale scored eight goals and added eight assists to finish the season with 24 points. She was named to the All-South Atlantic Conference (SAC) team and was selected the SAC Freshman of the Year for 2003.
Rebecca Angus (Middlesborough, England) was named to the All-Region first team. Angus, a 5-4 freshman forward, led the team with 17goals and 38 points. She was named to the All-SAC team this season.
Freshman defender Heather Terrell (Medina, Ohio) was selected to the second team All-Region squad. Terrell had an assist and was an All-SAC selection.
Sophomore forward Jennifer Bock (Stevensville, Mich.) was selected to the All-Region third team. Bock was named SAC Player of the Year in 2003 after scoring 12 goals and adding seven assists.
The Carson-Newman Lady Eagles completed the most successful
season in school history in 2003. The Lady Eagles were 15-4-2, won
the first SAC championship in school history and advanced to the
NCAA Tournament, also for the first time. C-N is coached by Philip
McNamara who was named SAC Coach of the Year.
