PC’s Adair and Ball Named to Verizon Academic All-District III College Division Women’s Soccer Team
CLINTON, S.C. - Presbyterian College women's soccer players Jessi Adair and Christina Ball have been named to the 2002 Verizon Academic All-District III College Division Women's Soccer First Team announced today.
Adair, a 5-5 senior attacking midfielder, is a three-time All-South Atlantic Conference selection and two-time NSCAA All-Region selection that has led Presbyterian in scoring each of the last three seasons. The former Decatur High School standout is the program's career leader in assists (33), ranks tied for second in career total points (109), and third in career goals (38). She ranks tied for third in SAC history in career assists and tied for 11th in career total points. She also has 10 game-winning goals to her credit.
For her efforts in the classroom, Adair was named to the 2001 Verizon first team Academic All-American team and the 2001 SAC Scholar Athlete Award Winner for women's soccer. She has a 3.87 GPA as an Elementary Education major. She has also been named to the school's Dean's List and President's List and the SAC Commissioner's Honor Roll.
Ball, a 5-1 senior defender, is a three-year starter and a 2002 preseason All-SAC selection. The former Hillcrest High School standout was named to the 2001 SAC All-Tournament team and has anchored the Blue Hose defense which has finished either first or second in the SAC in scoring defense each of the last four seasons.
In the classroom, Ball carries a 3.72 GPA while majoring in Biology and minoring in Chemistry. She has been named to the school's Dean's List (3.3 GPA) for six semesters and President's List (4.0 GPA) two semesters and to the SAC Academic Honor Roll for three straight years. In addition, she is the recipient of the prestigious J. Phillip Olmert Memorial Scholarship.
Adair and Ball are part of the 11-member All-District first team that will go on to the national ballots for Academic All-American announced later this year.
