The top-seeded Wingate Bulldogs make their 2024 SAC Tournament debut after earning a bye to the semifinals. Wingate enters play with a 12-4 overall mark and earned a share of the league's regular season crown with a 9-1 record. The Bulldogs are led by 2024 SAC Midfielder of the Year Leah Knowles who has consistently been one of the best players in the nation. Knowles is fifth in Division II among active goal scorers with 224 for her career and her 161 caused turnovers are the second-most by an active player. Trying to slow Knowles and the Bulldogs will be Newberry who have the fourth-best scoring defense in the conference. Ella Todd leads the Newberry offense with 37 goals and Serena Elias has added 34. Newberry had an impressive SAC Quarterfinal showing, dispatching fifth-seed UVA Wise 19-5.
Wingate took the first matchup by a final of 17-6 but that was way back on March 6 at Setzler Field. This will also be a rematch of last year's SAC Championship game which Wingate won 14-8 on May 1. 2023.

The South Atlantic Conference regular season co-champions conclude this evening's slate as Limestone hosts Anderson. Each squad went 9-1 in league play but Limestone won the tiebreaker and a bye to the semifinals while Anderson defeated Lincoln Memorial in the SAC Quarterfinals. In an intriguing head-to-head matchup, the SAC Defensive Player of the Year (Bailey Stumpf – Limestone) will match up with the conference's Attacker of the year (Alicia Cannon – Anderson). Stumpf has won back-to-back Defensive Player of the Year honors in the SAC and leads the league in caused turnovers while ranking second in ground balls. Cannon leads the league in goals and has tallied 103 points. Anderson also boasts the SAC Freshman of the Year in Rayne Dobson who is third in the conference in goals and sixth in points. In just their second year as a program, Anderson has the seventh-best scoring offense in the nation and sixth-best scoring defense. Limestone, under 23rd year – and 2024 SAC Coach of the Year – head coach Scott Tucker only allows 6.38 goals per game, which ranks third in Division II. The Saints lead the nation in shots per game at 37.6 and average 17.13 goals per game which ranks eighth.
Limestone won the first encounter between these two squads this season, a narrow 11-9 victory on March 26 at Saints Field. In that game, Anderson led 9-7 heading into the fourth quarter but the Saints rallied to score the final four of the game to take the win.
