Newberry’s Barlage, Queens’ Larranaga Named SAC Women’s Lacrosse Players of the Week
Newberry attacker KerriAnn Barlage and Queens midfielder Brittany Larranaga have been voted as the SAC Women’s Lacrosse Offensive and Defensive Players of the Week for matches played March 17-23, it was announced on Monday.

Barlage totaled 13 points last week, leading Newberry to a 2-1 record that included a conference victory over Brevard.
Barlage opened her week with three goals on Monday in an 18-5 Newberry loss at No. 6 West Chester. Then over the weekend, the senior recorded two goals and an assist on Saturday in a 20-3 win over Brevard, followed by five goals and two assists in Sunday's 19-7 victory at Young Harris.
In addition to the scoring, Barlage finished the week with 13 draw controls, 10 ground balls and eight caused turnovers. She currently leads the SAC with 31 goals and ranks second in points with 37.

Queens earned a pair of wins and allowed just 13 total goals last week against Millersville and Wingate, due in large part to the efforts of midfielder Brittany Larranaga.
The sophomore opened her week by scoring a pair of goals – including the game-winner in the final seconds – along with two ground balls, two draw controls and four caused turnovers on Tuesday in an 11-10 victory against Millersville.
Larranaga had another well-rounded performance in Saturday's 20-3 win at Wingate, finishing with a goal, six ground balls, three caused turnovers and two draw controls. Her 15 caused turnovers this season rank sixth in the conference.
