Anderson Women's Golf Falls Just Short at NCAA Championships
WINTER GARDEN, FLA. (TheSAC.com) -- The Anderson Women's Golf Team finished just short of advancing to match play by finishing three shots out of the top eight. Only eight teams advance past stroke play and Anderson finished ninth with a team score of 879. UIndy and St. Mary's (TX) both tied for seventh with an 876.
The Trojans were led by identical rounds of 71 by Zoey Iglesias and Kennedy McGaha. McGaha's round saw her finish tied for 23rd overall at the Championship. Kennedy Gooding shot a 72 to join McGaha in the top-30 with a 27th place finish. She tied with teammate Jessica Rathbone who shot a 73 today to give Anderson three golfers in the top 30 individually.
Anderson's season closes but they have the 2024 SAC Tournament and Southeast Regional Championship trophies to show for an outstanding season.
