Limestone's Sevenius Named 2023 South Atlantic Conference Women's Golf Scholar-Athlete of the Year
ROCK HILL, S.C. (TheSAC.com) – Limestone's Lisa Sevenius was voted the 2023 South Atlantic Conference Women's Golf Scholar-Athlete of the Year, the Conference office announced today.
The South Atlantic Conference Scholar-Athlete of the Year award is presented annually to one student-athlete in each of the Conference's championship sports and is voted on by the SAC's Faculty Athletic Representatives Committee. The winners are selected based on their achievements in academics, athletics, service, and leadership.
Sevenius, a senior from Aakersberga, Sweden, has a 3.75 grade point average majoring in administration, marketing, and management. She was named to the Conference Carolinas Presidential Honor Roll during her freshman and sophomore year and the South Atlantic Conference Commissioner's Honor Roll during her sophomore and junior year. Sevenius was also named a Women's Golf Coaches Association All-American Scholar.
Sevenius capped her regular season with an impressive 76.11 (+4) stroke average, including a low round of 69 (-3) at the Saint Leo Invitational on October 17-18, 2022. Sevenius collected three top-10 finishes with her best being 6th place at the LeeAnn Noble Memorial and was named SAC All-Conference. She had two career top-five finishes, as she placed fifth in her first career tournament as a freshman and bookended a second-round 72 with rounds of 75 for her second career top-five placement as a sophomore.
Off the golf course, Sevenius has been active in the Limestone community as she volunteered with Meals on Wheels during her junior and senior year. Meals on Wheels is an organization providing in-home visits to meet nutritional needs, combat social isolation, address safety hazards and provide holistic care for seniors in the community.
