CORAL SPRINGS, FLA. – Coming off a career year, Limestone University senior Ebba Hellman was named to the Women's Golf Coaches Association Division II All-America Team, earning first team honors as announced by the WGCA late last week at the DII National Championships.
An All-South Atlantic Conference and a two-time All-Conference Carolinas selection, Hellman was recently named to the WGCA All-South Region Team after pacing the Saints with a 73.76 scoring clip through 10 events this season. She placed in the top-10 nine times, collected seven top-5 finishes, and medaled twice. Hellman placed sixth overall on the individual leaderboard at the 2021 NCAA Division II National Championships and earned a point for Limestone in the quarterfinal round of medal match play.
Individually, Hellman won the 2020 Savannah Lakes Invitational with a two-round 147 (+3) and the Hargett Memorial Invitational. She posted a runner-up finish with a three-round score of 218 (+2) at the 2021 South Atlantic Conference Championship and was the runner-up at the Low Tide Intercollegiate.
An honorable mention on the 2019 WGCA Division II All-America Team, Hellman placed third at the Lady Bearcat Invitational, fourth at the Flagler Fall Slam, and fifth at the World Golf Invitational. She tallied a top-10 finish with a 224 (+8) to help the Saints make the cut at the 2021 NCAA Division II South Regional.
She followed that performance up with a solid showing at the NCAA DII National Championships, firing a combined 220 (+4) to place sixth overall, before earning a point for Limestone against Grand Valley State in the quarterfinals of the medal match play round. Hellman won her individual matchup by six strokes.
The Ronninge, Sweden native helped guide the Saints to seven tournament wins during the 2020-21 season and a runner-up finish at the Lady Moc Classic. Limestone placed third in the South Regional before finishing in first place during stroke play at the 2021 NCAA Division II National Championships.
Hellman will be expected to anchor the Limestone rotation next season as she returns for her final year in the Blue and Gold. She will be one of four starters returning as the Saints look to make another deep run.
