Anderson Surges Ahead to Take the Lead After Round Two of the SAC Women's Golf Championship

HICKORY, N.C. – The South Atlantic Conference continued its Women's Golf Championship at the Lake Hickory Country Club on Monday, April 8. After 36 holes, it was Anderson who improved 13 strokes from day one to day two as the Trojans now hold the top spot on the team leaderboard, shooting 609 (+33).
Anderson is just two strokes ahead of the second place tie of Lenoir-Rhyne and Wingate, each with 611. Carson-Newman is in fourth place with a 614 and Coker wraps up the top-five with a score of 616.
Individually, Wingate's Diana McDonald and Carson-Newman's Maeve Cummins are in a tie for first, sitting at 147 (+3) through the first two rounds. Lenoir-Rhyne's Megan Robb sits in the third place spot with a 148 (+4). Anderson's Tiffany Elam and Lenoir-Rhyne's Abbey Hartsell are tied for fourth each shooting 150 (+6) after day two.
The final round of the SAC Championship will continue with 18 scheduled on Tuesday, April 9. The conference officials have announced a start time of 8 a.m. and double-tees, the same schedule as today's round, in order to fit play around potential weather issues.
