WePlayed Sports Softball Players of the Week Announced
ROCK HILL, S.C. (TheSAC.com) – The South Atlantic Conference announced its WePlayed Sports Softball Players of the Week for games played during week five of the 2025 season. Carson-Newman's Hayden Dye was named the Player of the Week and Lenoir-Rhyne's Madison Wilson was named the Pitcher of the Week.
Dye, a senior from Knoxville, Tenn., exploded in a 4-0 week by the Eagles. Dye went 11-for-14 at the dish with eight runs scored in her four games of action. She hit three doubles and three home runs for six extra base hits and added nine runs driven in. She posted a .786 batting average, .800 slugging percentage and 1.643 slugging percentage.
Wilson, a sophomore from Pine Hall, N.C., went 3-0 in the circle for the Bears and didn't allow an earned run in her 12 innings pitched. She allowed just four hits and struck out 15 batters to post an 0.83 WHIP to go with her 0.00 ERA. Wilson earned a pair of wins over Lees-McRae and tossed six scoreless frames in an 8-0 win over Mount Olive.
