SAC Softball Lands Seven on Capital One Academic All-District Team
Seven SAC softball student-athletes have been named to the Capital One Academic All-District 3 Softball Team, CoSIDA announced on Thursday.
DURHAM, N.C. - Seven SAC softball student-athletes have been named to the Capital One Academic All-District 3 Softball Team, CoSIDA announced on Thursday.
The SAC accounted for more than half of the selections on the District 3 team, which also includes student-athletes from Conference Carolinas and the Peach Belt.
All seven of the SAC's representatives on the team come from different member institutions.
Pitchers Amber Duncan of Anderson and Meghan LaFevor of Lincoln Memorial earned spots on the team. Duncan is a senior biology major while LaFevor is a junior studying physical education.
The SAC claimed four of the team's outfield spots in Tusculum sophomore Katie Brennan, Mars Hill senior Natalie Haithcox, Wingate junior Kassey Pendley and Newberry sophomore Casey Stevens.
Brennan, a physical education major, and Stevens, a mathematics major, are the only underclassmen on the District 3 team.
Haithcox is studying history education, while Pendley is a health and physical education major.
Rounding out the SAC's representation on the team was Catawba senior infielder Alli Justice, a communications major.
