Carson-Newman’s Zoe Heim Named MVP Of 2008 Food Lion SAC Softball Tournament
ROCK HILL, S.C. -- Carson-Newman pitcher Zoe Heim, who went 4-0 with 36 strikeouts, was named Most Valuable Player of the 2008 Food Lion South Atlantic Conference Softball Tournament after leading the Eagles to the tournament championship.
Heim was one of five Eagles to make the All-Tournment team. Joining Heim from Carson-Newman are: Whitney Hickam; Jessie Howard; Sarah Little; and Mandy Stevens.
Hickam hit .417 with four RBI, while Little hit .417 with two RBI. Howard hit .364 with five stolen bases. Stevens hit .231 with three RBI.

Tournament runner-up Mars Hill placed four on the All-Tournament Team. Named to the team from Mars Hill are: Ashley Seawell; Kristina Osborn; Paige Brantley and Ashley Harber.
Seawell hit .389 with two home runs, two doubles and four RBI. Harber hit .368 with four BRI. Osborn hit .315 with five RBI. Brantley went 2-0 on the mound.
Wingate's Brittany Blankenship and Heather Winchester round out the All-Tournament Team.
Blankenship went 2-2 on the mound with a 2.03 ERA and 19 strikeouts. Winchester hit .545 with two RBI for the Bulldogs.
The All-Tournament Team is selected by the league's head coaches.
