2023 SAC Men's and Women's Cross Country Championships Set for Saturday, October 21
ROCK HILL, S.C. (TheSAC.com) – On Saturday (October 21) the South Atlantic Conference will kick off its first championship of the 2023-24 season with Men's and Women's Cross Country.
This year's championships will be hosted by Lenoir-Rhyne University and will be run at Southside Park in Newton, N.C. The men will be the first to race with their 8K meet beginning at 9 a.m., followed by the women's 6K race at 10:15 a.m.
Leading the way in this year's men's race will be the nationally ranked No. 2 Bulldogs of Wingate. In addition to being nationally ranked, the Bulldogs are also No. 1 in the Southeast Region. Also ranked regionally is Catawba at No. 3, Anderson at No. 5, and Lincoln Memorial at No. 7.
The Wingate women's team will highlight the women's race with the Bulldogs being nationally ranked at No. 13. Joining them in the national ranks is Catawba at No. 28. In addition to the Bulldog's national ranking, they are also the top team in the Southeast Region, followed by Catawba at No. 3, Anderson at No. 4, Lincoln Memorial at No. 5, Carson-Newman at No. 8, and Lenoir-Rhyne at No. 9.
