The South Atlantic Conference Announces AstroTurf SAC Men's and Women's Cross Country Runners of the Week, Oct. 30
David Cooper of Tusculum and Chloe Newell of Lenoir-Rhyne have been named the AstroTurf South Atlantic Conference Men's and Women's Cross Country Runners of the Week, respectively, the League announced today
ROCK HILL, S.C. (TheSAC.com) – David Cooper of Tusculum and Chloe Newell of Lenoir-Rhyne have been named the AstroTurf South Atlantic Conference Men's and Women's Cross Country Runners of the Week, respectively, the League announced today.
Cooper, a senior from Greenville, Tenn., finished fourth out of 46 runners over the weekend at the Lenoir-Rhyne Invitational. His time of 27:00.21 on the 8k course was good for No. 1 attached runners. It was his third top-five finish of the season. The honor marks his second Runner of the Week nod this season.
Newell, a junior from Tucson, Ariz., took second-place among 60 runners at the Lenoir-Rhyne Invitational with a 5k of 19:05 to led the Bears to a third place finish. She finished two seconds off the lead and her time was tops among runners from the South Atlantic Conference. The honor is her second Runner of the Week selection this season.
