Catawba’s Haney, Jacobs Named Runners Of The Week
ROCK HILL, S.C. - The Catawba College Indians swept this week's South Atlantic Conference Runner of the Week Awards, as Chris Haney and Olivia Jacobs were both honored with the weekly award announced today.
Senior Chris Haney, from Denver, N.C., led Catawba with a ninth-place finish at the Limestone Invitational. He had an 8K time of 27:47 in helping Catawba to a fifth place finish.
Jacobs, a freshman from China Grove, N.C., shattered the Catawba 5K school record in winning the Limestone Invitational on Saturday. The freshman's time of 18:22 was over a minute better than the previous mark of 19:39 held by Rori Godsey. Jacobs beat a field of 69 runners and helped Catawba to a runner-up finish at the meet, its best finish of the season.
