ROCK HILL, S.C. - Mars Hill College's Jon Stoehr and Lenoir-Rhyne College's Genna Eisenmann were named the SAC Men's and Women's Runners of the Week, conference officials announced today. This is the third time Stoehr has won the award and the second time for Eisenmann.
Stoehr, a 6-0, 150-pound senior from Antigo, WI (Antigo HS) turned in another outstanding performance. After a close race, Jon broke away from the competition with 200 meters to go and claimed the overall title at the McAllister's Deli/East Carolina Invitational. His time of 25:02 was the second fastest in Mars Hill history. It was also the third fastest time in SAC history. He finished first out of 35 runners including NCAA D-I competitors. The team finished first out of five teams.
Eisenmann, a sophomore from Clayton, NC (Clayton HS) was Lenoir-Rhyne's top female runner in the NCAA Division II race at The Citadel Invitational last Saturday morning in Charleston, SC, finishing with a time of 19:41 over the 5K course. Eisenmann, the reigning SAC Women's Runner of the Week, has been Lenoir-Rhyne's top runner in all four meets this year and has won an NCAA Division II race for the second straight week.
