Carson-Newman's Moore Named 2021 SAC Men's Outdoor Track & Field Athlete of the Year
ROCK HILL, S.C. (TheSAC.com) – Carson-Newman's Devon Moore has been named the 2021 South Atlantic Conference Men's Outdoor Track and Field Athlete of the Year, the Conference office announced on Tuesday (June 15).
Moore, a senior from Baxley, Ga., had an outstanding outdoor season as he took home second place honors at the NCAA Division II Outdoor Track & Field National Championship in the 200-meter dash with a time of 20.79 seconds and was third in the 100-meter dash with a time of 10.38 seconds. His finishes earned him All-American status in both races and made the first 10-time All-American in Carson-Newman track & field history.
He was a USTFCCCA All-Region pick and was named All-SAC in both events as well. He was a two-time SAC Outdoor Track Athlete of the Week honoree, and he captured the SAC Outdoor title in the 200-meter dash and was second in the 100-meter dash. Additionally, Moore won three 100-meter events during the regular season, a 200-meter event and was part of a 4x100-meter title and a 4x400-meter title.
The SAC Men's Outdoor Track and Field Athlete of the Year award is determined following the completion of the NCAA Division II Outdoor National Championship and is voted on by the league's head coaches.
