The South Atlantic Conference Announces AstroTurf Men's Outdoor Track & Field Athletes of the Week
ROCK HILL, S.C. (TheSAC.com) – Carson-Newman's Devon Moore was named the South Atlantic Conference AstroTurf Men's Outdoor Track Athlete of the Week, while Coker's Mike Earley was named AstroTurf Men's Outdoor Field Athlete of the Week for meets contested during the sixth week of the 2021 outdoor season, the Conference office announced today.
Moore, a senior from Baxley, Ga., added two more NCAA provisional times and championship to his season with a win in the 100-meter dash and a third place finish in the 200-meter dash at the Lee Flames Invitational. Moore won the 100-meter with a time of 10.38 seconds. He now holds the third fastest time in NCAA Division II in the 100. In the 200-meter race, Moore posted a time of 21.15 seconds.
Earley, a freshman from Columbia, S.C., won both the shot put and the discus events at the Winthrop Twilight Invitational last week. In addition to winning the events, Earley set new Coker records in both events. His winning toss in the shot put was 13.19 meters, while his discus throw was 38.98 meters.
