The South Atlantic Conference Announces Men's Outdoor Track and Field Athletes of the Week, April 13
ROCK HILL, S.C. (TheSAC.com) – Lenoir-Rhyne's Kevin Baxter was tabbed the Astroturf South Atlantic Conference Men's Outdoor Track Runner of the Week, while Isaiah Kyle from Wingate was named the Astroturf South Atlantic Conference Men's Outdoor Field Athlete of the Week for meets April 4-10, the League announced today.
Baxter, a senior from Columbia, S.C., was clocked at 14.12 in the men's 110-meter hurdles at the Aggie Invitational in Greensboro, N.C., which is now the sixth-best time in NCAA Division II and provisionally qualifies him for the national championships for the fourth straight year. Baxter also competed for the Bears in the men's 400-meter relay, which finished fifth (42.64 seconds) at the meet. The honor is his second Men's Outdoor Track Runner of the Week nod this season.
Kyle, a freshman from Morristown, Tenn., tied for second in the men?s high jump at the Johnson C. Smith Invitational with his NCAA provisional qualifying leap of 2.08 meters. The 2016 NCAA Division II indoor All-American is the number one performer in the SAC men?s high jump with his 2.15 meter jump at the Charlotte 49er Classic. The award is his second Men's Outdoor Track Field Athlete of Week nod this season.
