Tusculum's Subanovic Voted South Atlantic Conference Men's Tennis Scholar-Athlete of the Year
ROCK HILL, S.C. (TheSAC.com) – Tusculum's Nemanja Subanovic was voted the 2024 South Atlantic Conference Men's Tennis Scholar-Athlete of the Year, the Conference office announced today.
The South Atlantic Conference Scholar-Athlete of the Year award is presented annually to one student-athlete in each of the Conference's championship sports and is voted on by the SAC's Faculty Athletic Representatives Committee. The winners are selected based on their achievements in academics, athletics, service, and leadership.
Subanovic, a senior from Subotica, Serbia, holds a 3.960 grade point average while majoring in sports management. He is a four-time recipient of the Tusculum Athletic Director's Honor Roll as well as the SAC Commissioner's Honor Roll. He earned the Charles Oliver Gray Honors List all four years and was named a College Sports Communicators Academic All-District Team in his junior and senior seasons. He is in the College of Business Honor Society and an Alphi Chi Honors Society member. He has also earned a spot on the Dean's List all four of his years.
Subanovic was named a Second Team All-Conference performer this year and played nearly the entire season at number one singles for the Pioneers. Subanovic ended the year with an overall singles record of 9-12 and was a three-time All-SAC honoree in singles with a career mark of 59-34. He helped the Pioneers to a 38-9 SAC record in his four seasons and two NCAA Division II Tournament participants.
Off the court, he spent two years volunteering for campus clean-up projects on Tusculum University's Day of Service. He spent his last three years on the Pioneer Student-Athlete Advisory Committee. He also volunteered in the Tusculum University Athletic Communications office and also was a sport management intern.
