Queens' Cecere Named South Atlantic Conference AstroTurf Men's Tennis Player of the Week
ROCK HILL, S.C. (TheSAC.com) – Queens' Edoardo Cecere has been named the South Atlantic Conference AstroTurf Men's Tennis Player of the Week for matches played during week seven of the 2021 season, the Conference announced today.
Cecere, a sophomore from Turin, Italy, led the No. 13 Royals to a perfect 3-0 week with wins over Catawba (7-0), Tusculum (4-3), and UVA Wise (7-0). He picked up two decisive wins at No. 2 doubles with partner Edoardo Bottino, winning 6-1 against both Catawba and Tusculum. He then was victorious at No. 3 singles winning the Catawba match 6-0, 6-2, and he defeated his Tusculum opponent 7-5, 6-4.
This is Cecere's first Player of the Week selection this season.
