The South Atlantic Conference Announces AstroTurf SAC Men's Tennis Player of the Week, Mar. 30
ROCK HILL, S.C. (TheSAC.com) – Queens' Per-Erik Soler has been named the AstroTurf South Atlantic Conference Men's Tennis Player of the Week for matches played March 23-29, the League announced today.
Soler, a junior from Nice, France, posted three singles wins and three doubles wins to lead the Royals to a 3-0 record in South Atlantic Conference play last week. Against Wingate on March 25, Soler and partner Andor Vas got the match started with a 9-7 win over Neal Towlson and Sebastian Hall at the No. 1 flight. Soler followed with a 6-3, 6-2 win over Towlson in No. 1 singles. Three days later vs. Brevard the Soler-Vas duo downed Nathan Sabate and David Taggart 9-7 at the top flight before picking up a 7-5, 6-2 No. 1 singles win over Taggert. He closed his week out with an 8-4 top-flight doubles win over Stefano Daza and Garrett Duron of Carson-Newman and a 6-4, 6-7, 6-0 singles win against Joao Pedro Oliveria at the No. 1 flight. The award is his third Player of the Week plaudit this season.
