Lenoir-Rhyne’s Hochguertel, LMU’s Vasilyeva Named SAC Tennis Players of the Week
Lenoir-Rhyne junior Robin Hochguertel and Lincoln Memorial sophomore Elena Vasilyeva have been named the SAC Tennis Players of the Week for matches played March 3-9, the league office announced Monday.
ROCK HILL, S.C. – Lenoir-Rhyne junior Robin Hochguertel and Lincoln Memorial sophomore Elena Vasilyeva have been named the SAC Tennis Players of the Week for matches played March 3-9, the league office announced Monday.

Hochguertel went 3-0 in singles play and 2-1 in doubles matches last week, leading Lenoir-Rhyne to a 2-1 team record.
In singles action, Hochguertel earned wins in the No. 1 position over Carson-Newman's Juan Sebastian Perez, LMU's Will Sparks and Concord's Diogo Monteiro. Both conference victories came in straight sets.
Hochguertel also partnered with Bears teammate Hunter Pack in the No. 1 doubles spot for wins over Concord's Monteiro and Danny Fonrondona, and LMU's Sparks and Macello Alvim.
On the season, Hochguertel is 5-4 in singles match and 5-5 in doubles contests.
SAC Women's Tennis Player of the Week | Elena Vasilyeva, Lincoln Memorial
LMU picked up team wins over Lenoir-Rhyne and Bellarmine, led by Vasilyeva, who went a combined 4-0 at No. 1 singles and No. 1 doubles.
Vasilyeva's singles victories came over L-R's Zorica Djuric and Bellarmine's Michella McFerran – both in straight sets. In doubles play, the sophomore teamed with Gemma Goodland for wins over L-R's Djuric and Lacey Lapp, and Bellarmine's McFerran and Evann Waschuk.
Vasilyeva is now 6-3 in singles and 8-1 in doubles matches this year.
