Tusculum’s Planchard, Anderson’s Beaulieu-Brunet Picked as SAC Tennis Players of the Week
Tusculum freshman Nicolas Planchard and Anderson senior Camie Beaulieu-Brunet have been selected as the SAC Tennis Players of the Week for matches played March 18 through 24, the conference office announced on Monday.
ROCK HILL, S.C. – Tusculum freshman Nicolas Planchard and Anderson senior Camie Beaulieu-Brunet have been selected as the SAC Tennis Players of the Week for matches played March 18 through 24, the conference office announced on Monday.
Planchard spurred the Tusculum men to a 5-4 win over Wingate on Friday which snapped the Bulldogs' streak of 30-straight SAC victories. Planchard opened the match by teaming with partner Lukas Winkelmann in the No. 1 doubles match to earn an 8-6 victory over WU's Neal Towlson and Roberto Hennis.
Then in the No. 2 singles contest, Planchard rallied from a set down to defeat Wingate's Sebastian Hall in what proved to be the match's decisive point. After dropping the first set 3-6, Planchared took the second 6-2 before winning the final set in a tiebreaker format by a score of 10-7.
Friday's performance improved Planchard's singles record to 8-1 and his doubles record to 7-3 so far this season.

Beaulieu-Brunet led the Anderson women to a 2-1 week as a team by going a combined 5-1 in singles and doubles action. She went unbeaten in singles play, earning victories over Augusta State's Marcia Pimentel, Catawba's Lauren Sledd and Brevard's Katie Oullette. All three wins came in the No. 3 position.
The Montreal, Canada native also notched doubles victories with teammate Alexanda Ebner over Catawba's Sledd and Ally Prior and Brevard's Oullette and Elise Labus in the No. 2 position.
Breaulieu-Brunet is now 5-1 in singles matches and a combined 6-1 in doubles action in 2013.
