Brevard’s Lindsay Shaeffer Named Women’s Tennis Player Of The Week
ROCK HILL, SC -- Brevard sophomore Lindsay Shaeffer, of Perrysubrg, Ohio, has been named the South Atlantic Conference Women's Tennis Player of the Week for the week ending March 23.
Shaeffer helped the Tornados to a pair of league wins during the week, defeating Catawba 7-0 and Lincoln Memorial 9-0. The sophomore won both of her singles and doubles matches last week as the Tornados collected their first two SAC wins of the season. Thursday in a 7-0 win over Catawba, Shaeffer and Kim Dixon combined for a top flight doubles win over Jen Denyes and Kara Zielinski, 8-2, and in top flight singles Shaeffer dispatched of Denyes, 6-1, 6-1. Saturday in a 9-0 win over Lincoln Memorial, Shaeffer and Dixon won their No. 1 singles match over Sofia Lopez and Ann-Sophie Indeherberge, 8-6. The Tornado won her individual No. 1 match as well, 7-5, 6-2 over Lopez.
