The South Atlantic Conference Announces AstroTurf Men's Soccer Players of the Week
ROCK HILL, S.C. (TheSAC.com) – The South Atlantic Conference announced its AstroTurf Men's Soccer Players of the Week for matches played during the final week of the spring season. Carson-Newman midfielder Nic Carsh was named the offensive player of the week, while Carson-Newman goalkeeper Bram Kaarsgaren was named defensive player of the week.
Carsh, a junior from Newberg, Ore., led the Eagles to a pair of shutout victories last week over Tusculum (3-0) and Mars Hill (3-0). Against Tusculum, Carsh assisted on a goal and then against Mars Hill he scored two goals. For the week he had five points.
Kaarsgaren, a junior from Den Bosch, Netherlands, recorded two shutout victories last week between the goal posts for the Eagles. He made six saves versus Tusculum and then added three more saves against Mars Hill. For the week he had nine saves in 180 minutes of action.
