Three SAC Men's Soccer Student-Athletes Earn CoSIDA Academic All-America Honors
AUSTIN, Texas – Three South Atlantic Conference men's soccer student-athlete were named to the 2019 CoSIDA Academic All-America® Division II Men's Soccer teams, as selected by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) it was announced on Wednesday (Dec. 4).
The Division II Academic All-America® program is being financially supported by the NCAA Division II national governance structure to assist CoSIDA with handling the awards fulfillment aspects for the 2019-20 Division II Academic All-America® program.
Headlining the SAC selections is Queens goalkeeper Sebastian Kalk. The sophomore majoring in international studies has a 4.0 GPA as a first team selection. Coker forward Riccardo Ricci was a second team selection. The senior has a 4.0 GPA in computer science. The final honoree from the SAC was Tusculum defender Pau Peiro. He is a senior chemistry major with a 3.90 GPA.
Twenty-five of the 33 members of the 2018 CoSIDA Academic All-America® Division II Men's Soccer teams have at least a 3.80 GPA, with eight student-athletes maintaining a perfect 4.00 GPA. The 12 members of the first team have an average GPA of 3.93.
