PC’s Doug Belknap Named to Verizon Academic All-American College Division Men’s Soccer Team
CLINTON, S.C. - Presbyterian College junior Doug Belknap (Chattanooga, TN) was named to the 2002 Verizon Academic All-American College Division Men's Soccer Team, announced today by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA).
Belknap was named to the 11-member All-American third team and was one of only two South Atlantic Conference representatives on the three All-American teams, and he is the first men's representative from Presbyterian College in the schools history to be selected to the Academic All-American team.
Belknap, a 5-11, 171-lb junior defender, was named to the first team All-South Atlantic Conference this post season and helped anchor one of the best defenses in the SAC. In 2001 he was a Verizon Academic All-District selection and second team All-SAC selection.
In the classroom Belknap has a 3.93 GPA majoring in Physics, Math, and Computer Science. He has also been named to the Dean's List, President's List, and the SAC Academic Honor Roll the last two years.
