Tusculum’s Ormesher Named Second Team All-American in Men’s Soccer
MISSION, Kan. -- Tusculum College's David Ormesher has been named to the NSCAA/adidas NCAA Division II Men's Soccer All-America Second Team announced college officials this week.
Ormesher, a 6-1, 185 senior from Brisbane, Queensland, Australia, is the fifth Tusculum men's soccer player to earn All-America honors and the first since 1994.
Ormesher is a two-time First Team All-South Atlantic Conference performer. This season he was named First Team All-Southeast Region in addition to the SAC All-Tournament Team. He is a member of the Athletics Directors' Honor Roll and SAC Commissioner's Honor Roll.
He set a new school record with 19 assists this season, breaking the mark that had lasted for 10 years. That assist mark is the third-best in the South Atlantic Conference record books and led the conference this season. He also scored 18 goals for 55 points, the fourth-most in school history.
Ormesher tied a conference season-high with three goals on three different occasions and also tied a SAC-high with three assists versus St. Andrews Presbyterian College on Oct. 15.
Tusculum notched a 17-3-1 record last season, winning its first
SAC Regular Season Championship. The 17 wins by the Pioneers are
the most since the 1992 team went 19-3. In addition, TC led the
conference in scoring offense (4.57 goals per match), scoring
defense (0.57 gpm) and winning percentage (.833).
