The South Atlantic Conference Announces Seeds for the 2016 SAC Men's Lacrosse Championship
ROCK HILL, S.C. (TheSAC.com) – Lenoir-Rhyne won its second South Atlantic Conference Regular Season Men's Lacrosse Championship in three years as it captured the 2016 Title. With the crown, the Bears have earned the No. 1 seed in next week's South Atlantic Conference Men's Lacrosse Championship, it was determined today as the Conference season concluded this afternoon. Lenoir-Rhyne finished the season with an 8-0 League record.
Wingate earned the No. 2 seed as it finished the season 7-1 in South Atlantic Conference play, while Queens garnered the No. 3 seed with a 6-2 record in SAC play. Coker's 4-4 South Atlantic Conference record was good for the No. 4 seed. Tusculum and Catawba turned in identical 3-5 records in League play. The Pioneers won the regular season meeting with the Catawba Indians to break the tie and earn the No. 5 seed and Catawba finished up the seeds at No. 6.
Lenoir-Rhyne and Wingate each earned a bye to semifinals. The quarterfinals will be played on Tuesday, April 26 at campus sites with the semifinals and finals taking place at Queens on April 28 and 30. The tournament schedule is listed below:
