Anderson Wins 2023 SAC Men's Golf Championship
ROCK HILL, S.C. (TheSAC.com) – The Anderson Trojans took home the 2023 South Atlantic Conference Men's Golf Championship with a team score of 845 (-19) in the 54-hole event which concluded on Tuesday (April 18). Following the Trojans in second were the Lenoir-Rhyne Bears (868, +4) and the Newberry Wolves (874, +10) in third.
Lincoln Memorial finished in fourth with a three-day total of 876 (+1), with Tusculum in fifth at 877 (+13) and Limestone in sixth at 878 (+14). Carson-Newman came in seventh at 880 (+16), followed by Coker in eighth at 894 (+30) and Wingate in ninth at 901 (+37). Rounding out the field of teams was Catawba in 10th at 934 (+70), Mars Hill in 11th at 977 (+113), and UVA Wise in 12th at 981 (+117).
Individually, Anderson's Alejandro de Castro took home medalist honors after carding an even-par 72 in the third and final round. He finished the event at 9-under-par 207. Fellow Trojans Reece Coleman and Calahan Keever tied for second overall at 210 (-6).

With the tournament victory, Anderson earns an automatic bid to the NCAA Southeast Region Tournament which will be held at the Grande Oaks Golf Club in Davie, Fla., May 11-13.
