Queens Leads After First Round of 2022 SAC Men's Golf Championship

ROCK HILL, S.C. (TheSAC.com) – The Queens Royals fired an 11-under-par 277 as a team to take a five-shot lead over the Lincoln Memorial Railsplitters (-6, 282) in the opening round of the 2022 South Atlantic Conference Men's Golf Championship at the Graysburg Hills Golf Club in Chuckey, Tenn. On Sunday (April 10).
The Railsplitters are followed by the Tusculum Pioneers and the Newberry Wolves (-5, 283) in third and the Limestone Saints (-2, 286) in fifth. Coker (-1, 287) is in sixth, followed by Carson-Newman (E, 288) in seventh, and Lenoir-Rhyne (+3, 291) in eighth. Anderson (+9, 297) is in ninth, while Catawba (+10, 298) is in tenth, and Wingate (+12, 300) is in eleventh. Rounding out the field are UVA Wise (+21, 309) in 12th and Mars Hill (+40, 328) in 13th.
Individually, Lincoln Memorial's Luke Harries leads the field after firing a seven-under-par, 65, in the opening round. He is closing followed by Tusculum's Dominic Barron Holden in second with a six-under-par, 66. A pair of Queens Royals are tied for third after carding rounds of five-under-par, 67.
