Lincoln Memorial's Bradbury Named to All-Nicklaus Team
NORMAN, Okla. – The 24 honorees for the 2021 All-Nicklaus Team presented by True Spec Golf have been announced by the Golf Coaches Association of America on Thursday. Dan Bradbury, one of the most decorated players in program history, earned one more final honor for his historic stint in Harrogate, being named to the 2021 All-Nicklaus Team. Players selected represent Divisions I, II, III, NAIA and the NJCAA.
Bradbury finished his LMU career ranked as the No. 1 golfer in the nation in Division II according to GolfStat, after posting three individual victories this spring at the Bearcat Golf Classic, Argonaut Invitational, and the SAC Championship.
The Englishman topped the program record for nine-career individual victories, a mark that stood for nearly two decades. His senior season was not just historic in Division II, but across all NCAA levels. Bradbury entered the 2021 NCAA South/Southeast Regional Championship with a scoring average of 69.51, the lowest of any golfer in Division I, II and III.
Due to his extraordinary efforts, the Yorkshire native collected an impressive award haul this spring. Bradbury was named to the All-SAC First Team, in addition to picking up his second-consecutive SAC Men's Golfer of the Year award. He was named NCAA Division II PING All-Region by the Golf Coaches Association of America (GCAA) for the third-straight year, and recorded his second-consecutive appearance on the NCAA Division II PING All-America team. Bradbury was also a finalist for the Jack Nicklaus National Golfer of the Year Award, and picked up only the third SAC Male Athlete of the Year award in LMU Athletics history.
The All-Nicklaus Team was created in 2008, and is not only named for history's greatest player, Jack Nicklaus, but also to pay tribute to his long-time support of collegiate and amateur golf. Nicklaus, a Big Ten and NCAA Champion at The Ohio State University, helped inspire and create the Jack Nicklaus Award in 1988 and it is now presented to the National Player of the year in NCAA Divisions I, II and III, as well as NAIA and NJCAA.
The All-Nicklaus Team is comprised of Ludvig Åberg (Texas Tech), Alberto Avila (Erskine), Andrew Beckler (Washburn), Cecil Belisle (South Mountain), Sam Bennett (Texas A&M), Dan Bradbury (Lincoln Memorial), Lucas Cena (Keiser), Eugenio Chacarra (Oklahoma State), Pierceson Coody (Texas), Harry Crockett (Hutchinson), Peter Fountain (North Carolina), Nick Gabrelcik (North Florida), Noah Goodwin (SMU), Ryan Hall (South Carolina), Will Hocker (Webster), James Mishoe (Guilford), James Morgan (Kirkwood), John Pak (Florida State), Ben Partridge (Hutchinson), Dawson Peters (South Carolina Beaufort), Turk Pettit (Clemson), Ruan Pretorius (Point), Davis Thompson (Georgia), Rob Wuethrich (Illinois Wesleyan).
