Carson-Newman, Wingate Complete Second Round of NCAA Men’s Golf Regional
Round two of the 2012 NCAA Division II Men's Golf South/Southeast Region Championship at Rock Barn is in the books, with Carson-Newman tied for 17th and Wingate in 19th.
CONOVER, N.C. - Round two of the 2012 NCAA Division II Men's Golf South/Southeast Region Championship at Rock Barn is in the books, with Carson-Newman tied for 17th and Wingate in 19th.
The final round of the regional will take place on Wednesday.
Carson-Newman will enter Wednesday 20 strokes back of leader Georgia College after finishing round two with a team score of 600. The Eagles shot a 304 on Wednesday.
Wingate, meanwhile, is six strokes behind Carson-Newman after shooting a 307 in round two.
C-N's best individual round on Tuesday came from SAC Player of the Year Liam Ashby, who fired a two-over 74. Ashby is currently at nine over for the tournament.
Wingate was led by Brian Denton's round of 74 on Tuesday. Denton is five over for the Championship.
Newberry's Matthew Campbell, who qualified for the event as an individual, leads all SAC players with a two-round score of three-over 174, which included a round of even par on Tuesday. Campbell is currently tied for 27th on the individual leaderboard.
Lincoln Memorial's Eric Kennedy, another individual qualifier, shot a 73 on Tuesday and is tied for 35th with a score of 148.
