Final SAC Basketball Weekly Awards go to L-R’s Dillingham, C-N’s Burstrom
Lenoir-Rhyne guard Denzel Dillingham and Carson-Newman guard Tatum Burstrom were selected as the final SAC Basketball Players of the Week of the 2012-13 season, it was announced on Monday.
ROCK HILL, S.C. – Lenoir-Rhyne guard Denzel Dillingham and Carson-Newman guard Tatum Burstrom were selected as the final SAC Basketball Players of the Week of the 2012-13 season, it was announced on Monday.
Dillingham averaged 30 points and five rebounds last week as Lenoir-Rhyne split games against Mars Hill and Newberry.
Dillingham opened his week by scoring 31 points – including 23 in the first half – as L-R handled Mars Hill 82-68 on Wednesday. He also had seven rebounds, two assists and two steals in the game.
The sophomore then went for 29 points, three boards, two steals and an assist on Saturday in an win 85-83 at Newberry.
Dillingham shot 61.1-percent overall from the field and 53.3-percent from long range in the two games. He closed the regular season with the SAC's fourth-highest scoring average at 18.1 points per game.

Burstrom helped Carson-Newman lock up the No. 5 seed in the Food Lion SAC Basketball Championship women's bracket by averaging 18 points and 4.5 rebounds in the Eagles' wins over Catawba and Wingate.
On Wednesday at Catawba, Burstrom scored a career-high 24 points – including six three-pointers – as C-N survived, 60-59. The freshman followed that performance with 12 points and four rebounds on Saturday in a 56-50 win over Wingate.
Burstom also made 8-of-9 free throws and added two steals and two assists on the week. She finished the regular-season averaging a team-high 11.2 points per game.
