The South Atlantic Conference Announces WePlayed Sports Field Hockey Players of the Week
ROCK HILL, S.C. (TheSAC.com) – The South Atlantic Conference announced its WePlayed Sports Field Hockey Players of the Week for games played in during the ninth week of the 2023 season. Converse's Remington Lewis was named the Offensive Player of the Week while Belmont Abbey's Chloe Parker was named the Defensive Player of the Week.
Lewis, a sophomore from Felton, Del., notched two goals and two assists off five corner goals in an 8-0 shutout against Lincoln Memorial on Tuesday. This marked her second and third career goal and her first multi-point game in her career.
Parker, a junior goalkeeper from Virginia Beach, Va., set the new Belmont Abbey program record for most saves in a career against Limestone before making nine more saves in the win against Coker to total 10 saves on the week and 249 career saves. Parker also recorded her fourth shutout of the season in the 2-0 win over Coker on Saturday.
