Lenoir-Rhyne's Dugger Named D2Football National Special Teams Player of the Week
ROCK HILL, S.C. (TheSAC.com) –Lenoir-Rhyne defensive back Kyle Dugger was named the D2Football.com National Special Teams Player of the Week for his outstanding play during week five of the 2019 season, it was announced on Tuesday (Oct. 8).
Dugger, a senior from Fayetteville, Ga., helped the No. 8 Bears secure a 63-6 win over UVa-Wise last week. He returned two punts for touchdowns in the first quarter of action. His first return was for 68 yards, in which he broke five tackles on his way to the end zone. He then returned his second punt for a 67-yard touchdown. Dugger now holds two punt return records at Lenoir-Rhyne, most career punt return yards, and he is only player in program history to have two punt returns for touchdowns in a game twice in a career. This is Dugger's first special teams player of the week accolade of the season.
