WICHITA FALLS, Texas – Four student-athletes from the SAC have been selected to the 2013 Daktronics All-America Football Team, including a pair of first-team picks from NCAA Championship finalist Lenoir-Rhyne.
Lenoir-Rhyne offensive lineman Joe Ray and safety Michael Green were both voted to the First Team. They are joined as All-Americans by Carson-Newman linebacker Jaycob Coleman and L-R defensive lineman Blake Baker – both of whom earned spots on the Second Team.
Ray was earlier this season named the SAC Jacobs Blocking Trophy winner, which recognizes the conference's top offensive lineman. Behind Ray, Lenoir-Rhyne's offense leads the nation in rushing.
Green – the SAC Defensive Player of the Year – leads the SAC with eight interceptions, three of which were returned for touchdowns.
Baker, meanwhile, leads the conference with 12.5 sacks, and Coleman is second in the league with 137 tackles.
